Tito’s handmade Vodka is America’s original craft vodka from Austin Texas, distilled 6 times to produce a smooth and quality finish. Privately held and founder-led, Titos is a highly successful brand in the US and in 2024 their Board decided the time was right to build its credentials internationally, through the appointment of a Managing Director for international markets, a first appointment of this seniority located outside the US.

Recommended to the Board of Titos by a client who felt QLM’s knowledge of US CPG companies, plus many relevant insights on the European market context, could lead to a productive partnership between us. From the outset, the relationship evolved ‘hand in glove’ with Titos.

Clarity in action

Carefully finalising the role brief with the Board, we compiled and partnered on a market map to spotlight businesses and drinks brands with leaders who could potentially meet the profile and thrive in an edgy, entrepreneurial, and adaptive culture.

We found candidates who had lived and worked internationally, who had acquired nuggety experience within a lean, family-business, and could demonstrate their commerciality and ‘can-do’ in assessing routes-to-market to set-up for the specific level of business maturity.

Whilst desirous of an autonomous and resilient leader, it was important they would also be a team-player with Board colleagues, not a maverick operator. We screened and thoroughly assessed candidates from varied sources including industry names recommended to Titos directly.

We used our offices to help the client on employment contractual administration, a great candidate was appointed, located in London.

The search and quality of candidates also led to a second management appointment for the client’s key strategic markets.
