Crown Holdings is a leading global supplier of rigid packaging products to consumer marketing companies, specialising in aluminium and tinplate cans for beverages and food industries. From its origins in the late 19th century, the business has taken a lead in groundbreaking design and waste reduction solutions, and to this day stays ahead by pushing the boundaries on innovation, sustainability, and the circular economy.
Reporting to the North America President, the business wanted to appoint a Supply Chain Director - North America with an expanded remit. Beyond leading a large-scale, high-volume supply chain operation, the successful candidate would play a key role in strengthening supply chain capability as a strategic enabler of growth.
The mandate required a leader capable of balancing transformation with execution - driving modernisation, network optimisation, and supply chain performance initiatives, whilst not losing sight of the immediate day-day realities of a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
From insight to market maps
To identify the right leadership profile, QLM Search partnered closely with Crown to assess both the Supply Chain Leadership requirements of the role and the broader capabilities to bring a transformational, commercial, and executional mindset.
Our insights informed us to look for candidates not only with B2B food and beverage packaging experience, but people who had also operated in other arenas like industrial or CPG sectors, or speciality materials. The ability to build the supply chain as a competitive advantage, that can strengthen margin performance and create greater alignment with the commercial teams would be critical.

The successful candidate also happily relocated within the US to Tampa, Florida.
