Sales Director - Retail
QLM is supporting a well-invested, acquisitive meat manufacturing business as they look to appoint a Sales Director to lead the development of retail partnerships.
This is a newly created role, driven by continued growth and the need to strengthen how the business identifies, develops and converts commercial opportunities across the retail channel.
You’ll take ownership of retail relationships across a diverse meat portfolio, working closely with customers to identify where value can be created across the carcase.
This role extends beyond account management, requiring a structured approach to identifying opportunities, shaping commercial propositions and aligning supply, specification and demand to maximise value and minimise waste.
With ongoing investment and acquisition activity, you’ll also play a key role in integrating new product ranges and ensuring they are effectively positioned within the retail channel.
- Leading the retail strategy across the meat category, building long-term partnerships with major UK retailers
- Identifying commercial opportunities across the full carcase, ensuring optimal product placement, mix and margin recovery
- Working with customers on specification, format and range development to unlock value and drive category growth
- Aligning closely with operations and supply chain to ensure demand reflects yield, availability and production capability
- Supporting integration of newly acquired businesses, ensuring product portfolios are commercially optimised
- Driving structured account planning and proactive opportunity development across key customers
- Leading and developing a high-performing commercial team
