Head of International Trading - Meat & Seafood
Our client is a leading international food group with deep roots in the UK and Ireland, and an established reputation across Europe.
The group has built its success on a combination of innovation, strong supply chain integration, and long-term customer relationships. It is now seeking a senior commercial leader to drive the next stage of its international meat and seafood trading growth.
As Head of International Trading (Meat & Seafood), you will take full responsibility for developing and expanding the company’s trading activities across global markets. This role is about scale, influence, and opportunity, balancing strategic leadership with commercial execution.
- Expand trading activities for meat and seafood products across Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas.
- Build, maintain, and grow long-term partnerships with international importers, distributors, and key customers.
- Negotiate complex international contracts, ensuring value creation and sustainable profitability.
- Shape and implement global trading strategies aligned to group commercial objectives.
- Track commodity markets, trade flows, and regulatory changes to anticipate risks and capitalise on opportunities.
- Work across supply chain, logistics, operations, and finance to ensure trading activity is efficient, compliant, and profitable.
- Represent the business internationally at trade shows, forums, and with government or regulatory bodies.
- Demonstrable experience in global meat and/or seafood trading.
- A network of international contacts and a deep understanding of trade flows, particularly into Asia, the Middle East, and Africa.
- Expertise in negotiation, contract management, and risk control.
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to deliver profitable growth.
- Cross-cultural awareness and the ability to build trust in diverse markets.
- Resilience, adaptability, and energy to thrive in a fast-moving global environment.
